EPISODE -6
Saturday at 6.00 pm. Counting minutes, received
location in WhatsApp. I dressed up in a kurta Pajama, it suits me well, because
of my height. I started the car and drove towards her location. 6.35 pm, I am
nearly at her location; it looks like a residential colony, where I found fewer
apartments and more single buildings. A pleasant and calm atmosphere, the place
is with good roads and is well partitioned, informatively, street no`s are written
on concrete slabs at the very entrance. Following those, I spotted the location. It
is the corner building of the street, with a big metal gate and a beautiful
etching on granite named Rama Nilayam. I parked the car and grabbed all the
gifts I bought, went to the door.
Rang the doorbell!! Excited, Nervous, and confident. Vidhi opened the door.
“Hi Vinay,” She Said.
She looks stunning in her White and
red cotton salwar but looks tired and uneasy.
I replied, “Hello, is everything okay?”
“Absolutely Normal, please come in”
She added.
I entered the big hall, which is around
twenty X twenty in size, and I see a brown wooden partition in the center that
separates the dining. The visible area is well organized with antique
furniture.
I complimented her on the interior.
She said, “It’s my Dad`s creation and
he likes the way it is.”
“Okay! Please introduce me to your dad
then.” I asked.
“I wish he was alive.” She said in a
deep tone.
“Oh!! I am really sorry, I never knew,
and may I know what happened?” I asked.
She gave me an album; I started
turning one by one, it is filled with family photos. I see all her childhood
photos right from her first birthday till her twentieth birthday, and those were
arranged page by page order-wise. But his father looks a little aged in the
entire photograph, but I understood how? Dear daughters were related to
Fathers.
“My father retired as a bank manager before he met with an accident two years ago, I am their only child after ten
years of their marriage. We were a very
happy family and he lived a content life; I went to Noida for graduation, and later
worked in Chennai for TCS. I was here
for his retirement function, after a month mom & dad planned to give a
surprise visit to Chennai, where they met with an accident while heading to the airport. Dad was no more by the time he was hospitalized, and mom was badly
injured after two years of treatment she is normal but,” She stopped.
I am so curious to know what happened
to her mother. And asked, “But what?”
She stood and went into a room
quickly; I have no clue where she went? After a few moments, she returned with a
lady, who is in her mid-fifties sitting in a wheelchair.
“Vinay this is my mother Ramani Rao.” She
Introduced.
OH MY GOD! She is half-paralyzed, I dint know
how to react at the moment, I stood watching them.
“Vinay as I said earlier, I have a baby, and
she is my child.” I am her ‘Single Mother’ and she is my ‘Single Mother.” She
told.
“Sorry for lying to you, but I made up my mind
that whoever I live with, must accept my Mother as my child, so I want to know
how you respond to my fake situation.” She told.
“So you don’t have a baby? I mean a
real one?” I asked.
She shrugged!!
“So, is this a practical joke on me?”
I pose.
She Fumed, “What you see here is a
Practical joke? For me, it’s a matter of gaining your trust in Vinay, nothing
more or less, please don’t misunderstand me.”
Again radio silence, now in mind. Do
I feel happy or sad?
It took another twenty minutes to
become normal for me. I coped and thought of introducing myself to her
mother and decided to ask permission to marry her daughter. And I did as I
thought.
I see happy tears in her mother’s
eyes, she called me near.
She said in a low voice, “Vidhi told me about you a lot, I am happy to meet you, and she is a wonderful girl, Please
take care of her, and returned to her room.”
Vidhi is smiling, and I can feel the
YES from her, she came and gave me a hug.
She said, “I Love you.”
I just kissed her forehead and asked?
“May I ask you a question?
Yes Please! She said.
“I want to know what Mr. Trivedhi wrote in the
card & what about the bouquet? I inquire
She started laughing.
“Let that be a lifelong secret to you
my dear would-be husband, so I won’t say,” She said.
I frowned!!
I got up and opened the gifts that I
bought, she is playfully smiling at the toys and frocks. Of course, I smiled
too, and gave her the gift, she opened it so curiously, and I liked that.
She asked, “Where is the Ring?”
What!! I snap
“The wedding ring?” She told.
“Soon” I replied.
Exactly after two
months, I tie the knot and made her mine forever. It happened among hundred-odd
guests, really a cute and decent one. A
week after marriage, I came to my old flat and packed all my stuff for my in-laws' house, yes just exactly how a bride vacates the stuff after marriage from her
parent's place, I did the same thing trust me.
When I return I see a
new nameplate etched on granite
Vinaya Vidheya Rama Nilay.
Vinaya Vidheya Rama Nilay.
